The Organic Farm
Erve Woolderink is an organic farm in the hamlet Rectum, located between Rijssen, Wierden and Enter. Since 1400 this farmyard has been occupied by the Woolderink family. In 1797 the farm was in a very bad state. It was decided to demolish the 500 year old farm and build a new farm. The keystone above the farm doors of the current farm proudly present the date: in 1798 the new Erve Woolderink was founded
Nowadays Erve Woolderink consists of a wonderful farm with a beautiful shed, both have been included in the list of national monuments. The company covers 35 hectare, of which 5 hectare is forest. A herd of Aberdeen Angus cows grazes in the meadow. This original Scottish breed is one of the few herds grazing in the Netherlands. Cows and calves of this friendly breed graze together in the fields and are stabled in winter.
